Peptide education
Learn about peptides and how they are used
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signals in the body. Below is a plain-language guide to the categories we work with and the individual peptides most often discussed in consultation.
How to use this guide
Education first, then an individualized plan
Nothing here is a recommendation or a prescription. Candidacy, dosing, and monitoring are decided during an evaluation with your provider, based on your history, goals, and laboratory results.
Weight Loss Therapy
Options considered alongside a provider-guided weight-management plan that includes laboratory evaluation, nutrition support, and regular follow-up.
Semaglutide
A GLP-1 receptor agonist used in medical weight management. It supports appetite regulation and slower gastric emptying, and requires gradual dose adjustment with monitoring. This can include products such as Wegovy, Ozempic, and Foundayo. Ozempic and Wegovy are available via injection and as an oral tablet.
Tirzepatide
A dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist used in medical weight management, with similar titration and monitoring requirements. This can include products such as Mounjaro and Zepbound.
Tesamorelin
A growth hormone–releasing peptide studied for reducing abdominal fat and improving body composition. It is reviewed with appropriate laboratory testing and ongoing monitoring.
Triple Receptor Agonist
A peptide that acts on GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors together. It is studied for weight management and metabolic health, with gradual dose adjustment and monitoring.
SLU-PP-332
An exercise-mimetic peptide studied for supporting metabolism, energy expenditure, and endurance. Evidence is early, and it is used only as part of a discussed, individualized plan.
