Getting started
What you need for a video visit
- 1. Book your visit. Select a telehealth appointment when scheduling online or by phone.
- 2. Complete intake. Paperwork, consent, and insurance details are handled before the visit.
- 3. Join from your device. A secure link is sent to you — a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera works.
- 4. Be somewhere private. Find a quiet spot with a stable connection and have your medication list nearby.

Telehealth information & consent
Telehealth involves the use of secure, HIPAA-conscious audio and video technology to deliver care when you and your provider are in different locations. Patients must be physically located in Connecticut at the time of the visit.
The benefits of telehealth include improved access and convenience. Limitations include the inability to perform a physical examination, the possibility that technology may fail, and the possibility that your provider may determine an in-person visit is required to safely evaluate your concern. In that case, your visit may be rescheduled in the office.
Not all treatments or medications can be prescribed by telehealth. Prescribing decisions are made at the provider’s clinical discretion and in accordance with Connecticut and federal law.
You may withdraw consent for telehealth at any time and request an in-person appointment. Telehealth visits are documented in your medical record in the same manner as in-office visits.
Telehealth is never appropriate for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
